|About the Book|
The reason I read this book is a bit of a long story. My dad is always talking about Zola Levitt and his book A Christian Love Story, so Ive heard this name a LOT. Last week, a sweet lady from my church passed away, and my dad said, You know that guy that Im always talking about, Zola Levitt? That was her husband! Well, I researched a little and, sure enough, the lady that Mr. Levitt was first married to was the lady from my church, Yvonne Golden-Wright, the same lady that is in the beginning of this book! The only information on their marriage I could find on the internet was a copy of their marriage license and her name in this book. My curiosity was piqued and now here I am, writing this review. I got this book in the mail today and read it in one sitting. Its only 100 pages of letters between Mr. Levitt and Dr. Dan McGann. Mr. Levitt is witnessing to his childhood friend who is an intellectual and a skeptic. The banter is funny between friends and I found myself laughing out loud at a few remarks. Watching the story unfold of a friend sharing Christ and the other slowly open up to the moving of the Spirit is a sweet thing to watch. I really enjoyed this book and found it quite encouraging :) Its very heart-warming and for the time it took to read it, it is WELL worth it!Oh! I also learned that March 14, 1971 was the day that Mr. Levitt invited Christ into his heart, and today is the 42nd year of his salvation! I thought that was so cool that I got and read this book on his anniversary, and all because of his first wife who was with him the night he accepted salvation. I think thats so precious, and now theyre both celebrating in Heaven!
